News & Updates
Summer Schedule: Yes, we will run scrip over the summer. There will be no inventory on hand for sale, but we will process orders every 3 weeks on Monday. The dates for orders will be June 2, June 23, July 14, August 4 and August 25th. You can pick up your orders on Thursday of the order week or call me to make special arrangements. Pick up times on Thursday will coincide with the office hours and be announced soon.
As we announced a few months ago, you can now place you orders online and bypass the paper forms. Just go to the website www.shopwithscrip.com and register your family. Our enrollment code is 9L9937568511. All our vendors are listed including those that we don’t buy through GLScrip. This will become very handy for summer and so far I have heard good things from the families that are using it.
Through the www.shopwithscrip.com website you can now also pay for you order. You have to use a bank account, sorry no credit cards. Again go to the website and register for “PrestoPay”. There is a $0.39 charge added to your order by PrestoPay for this service, but that is a lot cheaper than the gas you would use to drive in. This is a great way to order scrip because you only have to come in to the school once to pick up your orders, not twice to drop off orders and payment and then again to pick up.

What is the Gift Card Rewards program and why does my family want to participate?
What is Gift Card Rewards?
Gift Card Rewards is simply another word for gift cards and gift certificates, the kind you can purchase at most national retailers and use like cash. Our school buys them at a discount (from 3-21%) from local grocery stores and Great Lakes Scrip Center, a national gift card/certificate clearing house for non-profit organizations. When you purchase the gift cards and certificates at their face value from Ridgeview, the school keeps the discount as a profit and shares that with you.
Why does my family want to participate in the Gift Card Rewards Program?
Families that participate in the program will receive 80% of the profit the school earns from their Gift Card purchases as a family credit. This is the reward. This credit can be used each year to pay for the Yearbook, or can be accumulated from year to year to help pay for the 6th grade Eco Week and the High School Italy Trip
The Italy Trip is a fantastic, life changing opportunity for your student to personally experience the art and architecture of ancient world and renaissance period which they have studied in their classes. It is an extraordinary chance for their book learning to come to life. But, trips like this aren't cheap and that's where the Gift Card Rewards Program can help.
Can a family really earn enough credit to pay for the trip?
YES, especially if you start while your child is young! Consider the following chart which is an estimate of what a family could earn. This is conservative:

If you
"work" the program, your yearly credit could be
even larger!
My
child is already in High School. I have several kids. It's
too late for me to start.
Families at a local private school use their school's Rewards
program to pay their tuition, about $4000 a year. How? They
get family and friends to purchase scrip from them and earn
credit from their purchases. So, with some effort, it is quite
possible to use the Rewards program and earn enough credit to
pay for the trip in a year!
I
can't imagine sending my kindergartner to Europe!
When my child was that age, I couldn't imagine sending him
either. But I wish I had had the opportunity to plan ahead
for the possibility. Even if your child ends up not going
and you don't use all your credit, it will go to a great cause,
Ridgeview's General Fundraising Account to help make our school
even better than it already is.
