Our History, Our Philosophy

Ridgeview Classical Schools is a free, public K-12 charter school located in Fort Collins, Colorado that is chartered through the Poudre School District. It opened in 2001, has high school grades 9-12, and conducts open enrollment through a lottery system.

The mission of Ridgeview Classical Schools is to develop the academic potential and personal character of each student through academically rigorous, content-rich educational programs.

Our Vision

It is the philosophy of the Ridgeview Classical Schools that all students benefit from a rigorous, content-rich, educational program that develops academic potential and personal character. The school will provide an environment that fosters academic excellence through the habit of thoroughness, the willingness to work, and the perseverance to complete difficult tasks. Through a defined traditional, classical-liberal curriculum students will be prepared to become active, responsible members of their community.

Over two thirds of our faculty members hold advanced degrees. We have over 60 faculty members and a student-teacher ratio of 13:1.


Our students work hard, persevere, and become active, responsible community members. Our students are six time regional Science Bowl Champions, and have competed as National Merit Semi-Finalists and All State Music Participants.


Ridgeview consistently earns medals in the annual US News and World Report. Ridgeview has appeared in the Top Three Colorado High Schools from 2001-2008 in the Annual Colorado School Accountability Report.
