Dr. Cassella

Where were you born and where have you lived?

I was born in Manhattan, NYC. I have lived in New York, California, Arizona, Texas, Canada (Toronto) and Italy (Rome).

Where did you attend university or college?

CSU Northridge, UC Irvine, University of Toronto, and University of North Texas

What kind of reading do you most enjoy doing?

Books about cultural history (especially the ancient world and Italy) and well-written historical novels. I really do adore epic poetry from all parts of the world.

What are the small essentials that make life more comfortable?

Excellent coffee (all types-- Espresso, Turkish, French Press, and American Drip); jasmine green tea; smaller lights that make it possible to turn the operating-room lights off, so one can read and relax in a civilized manner.

What are your favorite snacks?

Things that are savory (not sweet) and have little or no diary in them. As for sweets, I do find Biscotti, Turkish Delight, and Baklava difficult to resist.

What do you do to unwind?

To relax, I love to drink craft beer (especially Belgian) or wine while sitting on a comfy chair, either reading or watching a good movie or a cricket match.
