Where were you born and where have you lived?
I was born in Kentucky, but also ‘grew up’ in Georgia and Indiana. I studied in Geneva, Switzerland for a three-month research stint on sex trafficking and human rights in 2014, and lived for a blissful ‘year and a bit’ in London while completing my masters.
Where did you attend university or college?
I received my M.Sc. in Political Theory from the London School of Economics and Political Science and my B.A. in Political Science from DePauw University.
What kind of reading do you most enjoy doing?
Biographies and auto-biographies can be riveting, particularly those with a spiritual component. The Hiding Place may be my favorite of this type, with Bonhoeffer: Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy, a good second. I can zoom through fantasy, though; give me something like Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter with a cup of tea, and I will be one happy camper.
What are the small essentials that make life more comfortable?
Water, food, and a roof over your head.
What are your favorite snacks?
PEANUT BUTTER (preferably with banana or dark chocolate chips). Black tea.
What do you do to unwind?
Work out! Hiking, HIIT (high-intensity interval training), trail running, Spartan races, and snowboarding all help wring out the stress!
