Where were you born and where have you lived?
Originally from Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, I moved to Fort Collins in 2010 after visiting a friend and falling in love with Colorado.
Where did you attend university or college?
Prior to moving to Colorado, I attended college at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, PA where I earned my Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Elementary Education.
What kind of reading do you most enjoy doing?
I have always loved to read! I can remember growing up and creating little forts so that I could hide away and get lost in a book. As a child, I loved reading fantasies, James and the Giant Peach being my favorite. Now, my favorite type of books to read are mysteries and crime thrillers. One of the reasons I love working at Ridgeview is that I have been exposed to such a wide range of books that I have really enjoyed. If you have a book that you've read recently and loved, I'm always looking for recommendations!
What are the small essentials that make life more comfortable?
Anything soft and warm! I am always cold and love snuggling up in blankets, sweaters, scarves, etc.
What are your favorite snacks?
As ALL of my previous students know, I love gummy candy, my favorite being Swedish fish! : ) Other than that, I love fresh fruit and veggies, soft pretzels, and Nothing Bundt Cakes (carrot cake is my favorite).
What do you do to unwind?
Outside of Ridgeview, I love traveling, scrapbooking, spending time with friends and family, checking out the many restaurants that Fort Collins has to offer, and cuddling with my dog Franklin.
How could a parent volunteer help you most?
Parent volunteers are an essential part of what makes a year run smoothly. Each year provides different opportunities and challenges, so flexibility and availability help the most. In 3rd grade, parent volunteers have the opportunity to volunteer with reading groups, stuffing Monday folders, sharpening pencils, wiping desks, decorating bulletin boards, chaperoning field trips, organizing scholastic book orders, completing take home projects, or donating supplies for in class celebrations.
