Where were you born and where have you lived?
I was born at Lakenheath RAFB in England before the Air Force moved my family to New Mexico as a toddler. We then move to Wisconsin and lived two different places there before being move back to the Southwest: Del Rio, Texas! Then it was out of the frying pan and into the freezer, moving to Eielson AFB, Alaska where I graduated high school before moving to Indiana, Colorado Springs, and, finally, Fort Collins where I hope to finally grow some roots for the very first time.
Where did you attend university or college?
I attended Franklin College in Indiana for my bachelor’s degree and have done master’s coursework in education as both Grand Canyon University and Colorado Christian University, where I plan on finishing my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction.
What kind of reading do you most enjoy doing?
I enjoy reading historical fiction because it tells the story of our world in a personable and relatable way that brings history to life. I also enjoy reading the classics from Jane Austen to Shakespeare and many more, for a similar reason, being transported to a different time and place, and understanding the roots of culture and thought.
What are the small essentials that make life more comfortable?
I would have to say the small essentials that make life more comfortable are the company of loved ones, conversation, coffee and tea, and good books.
What are your favorite snacks?
My favorite snacks include anything chocolate, fruit, cookies, biscotti, coffee, and skittles.
What do you do to unwind?
To unwind I like to do crafts, read, take walks, listen to music and sing, and spend time with my family.
How could a parent volunteer help you most?
We can use parent volunteers almost every day to help with reading groups.
