Ridgeview's Middle School (also referred to as the Intermediate School) encompasses grades 7-8. Here, students begin to get a taste for the high school experience. Course offerings are broadened, as well as the variety of activities and student groups available for participation.
Middle School Highlights
In the middle school, students continue their studies in orchestra, band, or choir. They may also start getting involved in Madrigals, the fall play, or the spring musical.
Throughout the year, middle school students may attend movie nights, dances, and other social outings.
In the summer, students in grades 7-8 are encouraged to attend class trips across Colorado to learn outdoor skills and foster friendships. Previous trips have included: orienteering in Wyoming, an afternoon at the Fort Collins Pool, and hiking at Horsetooth.
The tenants of the Character Pillars continue to be emphasized throughout in the middle school. Now, students may be recognized for their character and academic performance through Student of the Quarter awards.
6th-8th grade students may participate in cross country, boys and girls soccer, girls volleyball, boys and girls basketball, and track and field.
Every April, our middle school students are provided the opportunity to take "mini-courses" on a variety of topics. Previous mini course classes have included: dance, painting, bicycling, and more. Middle School students also enjoy a BBQ lunch and games.
